Chanel Spring 2017 New Odd Review

1. I don’t have nearly enough money to want to get half the things I saw while watching. Do we even have a Chanel store in South Africa?

2. I used to turn away whenever someone mentioned Chanel – though I loved it – I thought brand had gone kinda stale. I know better now, Karl Lagerfeld is King Consistent, this collection was a real good example of his consistency and dedication. I understand the ponytail and high collar now. I get it.

3. Wearing your cap sideways? Okay, not necessarily something I would like to adopt but good try at trying to turn me onto caps, I almost found myself wanting to go buy one.

4. Remember when Chanel did split-front skirts for FW 2013? I do. 10 points for consistency King Karl.

5. This show was a well put together presentation, but doesn’t Chanel have a footwear designer? Is it a copy and tweak mission all through? I am probably just mad because I want one of the jackets and I am taking it out on the poor pumps…

6. On a sort of unrelated note, I am recognising a lot less of the models’ faces this season. Am I getting old?

7. As busy as these clothes seemed, they has a very airy cleanness to them. Like how you stare at a paint splattered canvas and it makes sense… Chanel Spring 2017

8. I know the target audience for this brand is mixed and all, I still can’t imagine any of the Chanel ladies I am imagining being attracted to a sideways cap… any cap at all for that matter, but I am again just mad at my being poor.

9. If there is one thing I can’t stand, it’s a bloody short sleeved blazer/tuxedo jacket. JUST STOP IT!!!!

10. Layers of pearls have always and will always be a Chanel thing. Spot the fakes.

1001. Consistency.
